Ascent Training

Mountain Adventures work with selective training partners in the Lake District, Snowdonia and Scotland, who provide courses, instruction and guiding for rock climbing, winter climbing, summer and winter walking and rock scrambling.

Our mountaineering courses are primarily run in the Lake District; however, winter courses are usually based in Scotland subject to prevailing winter conditions.

Ice climbing and winter mountaineering courses/guiding are run in Scotland, the Lake District or Norway.

However, we also provide rock climbing courses in the Peak District and Wales and offer a professional mountain guiding service throughout the UK and also overseas.

Our range of courses caters for the complete novice, those wishing to gain more experience and experienced climbers and walkers wishing to learn more advanced skills, improve performance, or visit new locations.

Our range of courses are available daily, throughout the year. The course lengths are from two days to a full week and one day lessons are also available on request.

Our aim is to give our clients a well structured course, meeting the needs of each individual. Multi-activity days are also part of our repertoire.

Course Instructors all hold MIA or MIC qualifications and have a huge amount of mountaineering experience in the UK and overseas.

We can organise activity days on the crags, mountains or underground in summer or winter providing a one to one or one to two staff to student ratio to ensure the highest safety factor.

Examples of this could include a full day rock climbing anywhere in the UK. Ever dreamt of doing Dream of White Horses, Left Wall or Saxon on Scafell? Or Winter routes such as Point Five or The Curtain.

For the cavers out there a descent into Gaping Gill, a trip into the Easegill system or many other classic caves in the Yorkshire or the Peak District are all possible.

Almost anything can be undertaken so just let us know what you want to do and we can make arrangements.

We can offer specialist 1:1 guiding and group support throughout the UK using highly qualified guides who have expert local knowledge on a wide variety of routes

On the ground we can provide guides for the Lake District, Snowdonia, Scottish Highlands, Cairngorms or Cuillin Ridge.

You may feel you would like the guidance and expertise of a very experienced climber to undertake your dream climb...

Have you always wished to climb Point 5 gully on Ben Nevis, Cenotaph Corner in North Wales or any other classic climb but would like a guide to make important decisions?

We are specialist in small group guiding and operate with high instructor ratios with emphasis on safe group management and can provide fully supported guidance for climbs and expeditions throughout the year.
